Life isn’t a destination; it’s a process. We’re always trying to get someplace, do something, accomplish something; we’re yearning to feel that we have arrived and reached the goal. But living is an ongoing process. How often do we just live in the present moment and value the here and now of living? Present moment awareness is grand.

Be Here Now
March 12, 2008 by writersmuseMind-Body Connection
March 11, 2008 by writersmuseIn health or in illness, how the body feels affects how the mind and emotions feel, and how the mind and emotions feel affects how the body feels. The two are inseperable.

Murder Is Legal
March 7, 2008 by writersmuseEvery year 5 million people die because of tobacco-related illnesses, and yet the multi-billion dollar tobacco industry isn’t put out of business. Tobacco addiction is the second leading cause of death in the world and nicotine dependence is ranked ahead of alcohol, cocaine, and heroine. Evidently, drug pushing and murder is legal.

Get Fresh!
March 6, 2008 by writersmuseWhen I’m at the grocery store check out counter I’m sometimes asked what “those” are. “Those” refer to fresh green beans. It’s amazing that people don’t know what fresh vegetables look like. If it isn’t canned, boxed, or frozen, with a label on it, some people (including the clerks, who should know better) don’t know what the name of the vegetable is. If you’ve been eating packaged vegetables, give yourself a break and visit the produce department of the grocery store and buy some veggies and fruits. There are signs that tell you what “those” are. Then buy my report STEAM POWERED VEGAN along with my cookbook BUDDHA’S SWEET TOOTH, and cook some whole foods that are not only healthy, they taste a whole lot better than that packaged stuff you’ve been eating.

Vegan Hot Cocoa Substitute
March 4, 2008 by writersmuseI know you love your chocolate, but it has caffeine and, usually, dairy. You can read about the bad health effects of caffeine and dairy on my web site, but in the meantime, let me give you an alternative: Put a teaspoon of carob powder (a healthy chocolate substitute that tastes great) in a mug, fill the mug with soymilk, or rice milk, or almond milk, and add a teaspoon of honey, or brown rice syrup, or maple syrup. Stir. Put the mug in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Put the mug in the microwave for another 1 1/2 minutes. Stir. Drink. You will love this. For a nice change, you might want to add 1/2 teaspoon of grain coffee (a coffee alternative) to the mixture, above. Carob powder, soymilk, rice milk, brown rice syrup, and grain coffee can be purchased at some larger supermarkets, health foods stores, or Whole Foods Market.

Poisoned Americans
March 3, 2008 by writersmuseThe Food and Drug Administration allows the multibillion-dollar food industry to put additives such as chemicals, pesticides, industrial polutants, dyes, stabilizers, thickeners, preservatives like sulfur, for one, antibiotics, hormones, and other drugs given to animals, sugar, and salt in food. Most of the foods are processed foods. Americans are among the sickest people in the world because of this diet that is hyped and sold in advertisements. Americans get fatter and sicker while health care costs continue to rise in a country that has no national health care system, and Americans aren’t educated that what we are eating is killing us. Cancer, heart disease, and obesity are among the nation’s top killers. Is it any wonder? You are what you eat. When does the insanity stop?
Protein & Calcium Myth
March 1, 2008 by writersmuseThe dairy and meat industries would have you believe that the only foods you can get calcium and protein from is dairy and meat. This is absolutely wrong. There is an abundance of calcium and protein from the plant kingdom. Whole grains, seeds, nuts, fruits, and vegetables have all the calcium and protein that the human body needs. If you are eating a variety of living whole foods from the plant kingdom, you can’t avoid protein and calcium.

Corporate Environment
February 29, 2008 by writersmuseThe corporate mindset isn’t a holistic environment. It goes against the individual. Workers are supposed to conform to the corporate culture and ideal, which has nothing to do with individuality. Uniqueness is not allowed. If the employee doesn’t walk the walk and talk the talk of the corporate brand and message, he or she is out. Individual thinking is not allowed. The corporate employee must go against self and against natural inclinations, and become a soldier of the corporate ideal, walking in lockstep to corporate mindlessness, speaking corporate technobabble. Creativity is not allowed.

Holistic View
February 28, 2008 by writersmuseAllopathic, or traditional doctors, treat disease and parts of the body instead of the whole person, but humans are not assembled and disassembled with interchangeable parts. Homeopathy treats the whole person because humans are either well as a whole and feeling centered and good, or not. This is the holistic view.
